People are hearing from Trinity...

Rejected… Well, congrats to the accepted & all the best for the rest :D

Accepted…very excited! Congrats to everyone.

Freaking out - says that I don’t have authorization to go to the log in page!

Accepted! Congrats to everyone who got in

accepted! should we post our stats?

Avvepted… finally, was starting to have really low self esteem

haha I got waitlisted…4.44 GPA (rank 8/202) and 2260 on SAT. strange.

lemme guess you needed financial aid?

It seems that need based Trinity really means that they run like a business, rather than taking true top applicants. Just from my experience now.

My friend applied for no financial aid. 1900 SAT, No Act, 4 AP Courses, National Honor Society Member, Phoenix Club (Singing) Member, Basketball player, Soccer player. Unweighted GPA 93.

I applied for a large amount of financial aid. 2120 SAT, 33 ACT, 11 AP Courses, National Honor Society Vice President, Key Club Member, Work everyday after school at childrens program past five years, Model UN Member, Soccer player, Volunteer at elderly home and library once a week. 94 unweighted GPA.

Guess who got in? Her. It just doesn’t seem fair to me. I apologize if I am jumping to conclusions, but you seem like a great applicant too. Rather strange how decisions work

@Hope2016ful: I had 2220 SAT and 3.89 gpa and I also got waitlisted. Let’s just conclude we were too good for Trinity so Trinity thought we wouldn’t go even if we were accepted lol.

Waitlisted  Was somewhat expecting a rejection.

For comparisons: 85 GPA, 2050 SAT, lot of ECs. Applied for a decent amount of financial aid.

interesting - is Trinity need-blind? I have a large need and I was rejected - but I was also waitlisted at ConnColl.

Nope trinity is need based.

Well if this is true about the aid I was waitlisted and I also needed quite a bit of aid. Strange since I was just accepted to Scripps, Holy Cross, USC, Macalester, Berkeley, BC, and others… Oh well wasn’t my favorite anyway.

@Ivy12375 - I’m so sorry to hear that you were not accepted to Trinity…bummer!

All others - I have no idea how these decisions are made…it’s quite a mystery. We did not request any FA, and my S was rejected:

Strengths: my scores and gpa were in the range for trinity college. i think i had some unique idea for my essays but my bad writing undermined that.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: i had stats that were well within range. also God
General Comments:
will not be taking the spot

you are correct, he is the multicultural advisor, this would be an encouraging letter to a minority student. a likely letter from regular trinity will be an invite to interarts, isp, guided, or cities.

"@Hope2016ful: I had 2220 SAT and 3.89 gpa and I also got waitlisted. Let’s just conclude we were too good for Trinity so Trinity thought we wouldn’t go even if we were accepted lol."

sorry, NOPE  i know someone with a 35 ACT and a 4.0 unweighted and they got in just fine, as well as to plenty of other schools with TONS of merit aid. so trinity doesn’t have tufts syndrome … and you are not too good for trinity :P

no, i read a letter from the president in the Trinity Tripod and if anything, he says that while their endowment doesn’t allow them to offer all the aid that they would like to for everyone and so a certain percentage of their kids are full pay, they DO use their available aid to cherry pick top candidates with great scores, grades, achievements etc in order to improve their campus and even their numbers. it could just be a fit issue, demographics or whatever. the person who i know got a great admitted letter that talked not just about their grades and scores but about their essay and what it demonstrated about them. every school has a culture and needs certain demographics, and is impressed by different things. the ones we think we want to get into the most sometimes are not the ones where we actually fit. believe me i get that it’s hard to accept reality sometimes. i am sure you got in to some great schools, so you shouldn’t rip on trinity as it always works out in the end, doesn’t it.
