people are telling me to "show interest" to my college choice.. How??

many CCers have told me to make sure i "show interest" to my #1 choice, northeastern, because many people have pegged it as a "match" or "safety" school for me.. They said that NEU might reject me because they think i am applying just for a "safety."

How do i avoid this?!

I am visiting the school next week from Cali, but is there anything else i can do to "show interest"?

Thanks so much!!

Visiting (along with an interview, tour, info session, overnight, and sitting in on a class or two) is a good start in showing a sincere interest. Afterwards, be sure to send a "thank you" note to your admission's officer, or whoever interviewed you--and if Northeastern is still your top choice, make that VERY clear. I understand that many schools keep track of such things--they really like to see enthusiasm from a prospective student.
