Im a potential freshman this year - for current ucsb students, do people there have a good enough sense of humor/ creative enough to say, do a flash mob, pull pranks, and have fun besides partying?

Also, how is the school spirit, or does no one really care?

I'm trying to decide last minute between ucsb and the cheaper option of sdsu for my undergrad. Thanks for the help!

I have had a great experience here so far with people. I have met just one self-absorbed person but he was pretty fun person, a decent friend he offered to help me with my guitar lessons and invited me out with him. There are a lot of prankers too, even the professor and some tutors. I remember on my final, professor daryl cooper and a CLAS tutor were pie-ing each other on stage. Overall, people are chill you’ll find people with your same interests and are very open to inviting you to do things as such with them such as surfing or whatever it may be. School spirit is big also, we had a record of like 16 or 18 thousand students attend a soccer game, out of ~20 thousand student population. Our mascot Ole goes around campus and gives free stuff to people wearing ucsb gear and there are a lot of advertisement to attend the sporting events on campus. You shouldn’t have to worry about those things here, and good luck to wherever you choose

I imagine it’s already too late, but I hope you chose UCSB. My dad went to SDSU back in the day, but even he says it’s nicer in Santa Barbara… With my honesty, I can say that there are so many bright, talented, but fun people out here…, coming from Northern California, Southern California, and around the world. We do what we do well, whether that’s partying or studying.

UCSB is also a better-ranked school than SDSU.
