got into both, oos. financial aid is crap. ahhh...

i was rejected from ucla but got into cal... a lot of my friends were the reverse. i don't get it..

I got into Cal, but not UCLA.

got into both oos. but also got into some other great schools, so its gonna be a tough month of decisions.. especially because my parents won't let me visit any schools outside mass.

wow, that's hard to choose if you haven't visited. westwood is nicer than berkeley in my opinion... nocal is generally cooler/foggy and socal is sunny.. but berkeley is an amazing school..

pea_sea, I'm glad you got rejected since you only applied as ajoke :)

I got in Berkeley, Rejected from UCLA, going to UCSD!!!!

me! i got rejected from UCLA but i just found out today i'm in at berkeley! hazzah!

Got into Cal, UCLA and USD - Out of state. Unsure what to do. Good luck to everyone!

i got into UCLA Honors, and was accepted to Cal. But right now I'm leaning toward Stanford (and their amazing finaid package). :)

Rejected from UCLA, admitted to Cal in Spring

This is weird... I always thought Berkeley was tougher in terms of admissions... not that I'm "disrespecting" UCLA though.

Berkeley has been, in more recent years, been attempting to emulate Ivy's in a "comprehensive" approach, looking at essays and EC's. In the words of an Berkeley admissions officer I once talked to, "from cover to cover".

UCLA, perhaps, is still more in numbers mode, so there is some disparity to their admissions.

That's one theory.

There's also the thing a while back where there were rumors that UCLA was deliberately rejecting students who were expected to get into UC Berkeley to boost its yield rates.

Merely speculating here.

I got into both with Regents and Chancellors.

Got in both.

got into ucla and berkeley spring; leaning towards ucla while the parentals are crazy about berkeley...
