People with lower GPA's!

So many of the threads on here are people with 3.9+ GPA's and 2400's on their SAT's. The goal of this thread is to get people who are either in the process of applying for college or people that have been accepted/deferred/rejected, to colleges, to post their stats to give people with a lower GPA, say around a 3.0, an idea of where they can go or if they could get into their schools. I am one of these students and its hard to find chance threads that are around your GPA when everyone in the thread already knows they've gotten accepted to harvard. Im sure many will agree with me and hopefully make this a useful thread.

Go at it!

Ill get it started,

UW GPA -3.1 (upward curve, frosh. 2.5, soph 2.68, junior 3.1)
SAT's 1850
Basketball, Baseball, Football, Volleyball Club
Peer ministry(church), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
and more activites.

Out of the following schools, would i have a chance at any of them? My GPA kills me because my freshman and sophomore years were bad but i brought it up as much as i could junior year. I am from NJ.

Florida State
USF
WVU
UConn
GMU
ECU

I would love to go to school in florida but are any of these potential matches?

Everyone can feed off of this and use this thread as one for those with lower GPA's to get input so feel free to write your own!

I’m new to CC too, so I dunno if people want a bunch of different chances in one thread, but I think CC definitely needs a chance “area” for people that aren’t freaks of nature. Cool idea.

I’d say that WVU, ECU, and GMU are matches. FSU and USF are high matches to low reaches and UConn is probably a low reach-mid reach. This, with the obligatory disclaimer that if you write a really sick essay or demonstrate personality in another way, you’ve got a better chance at these places. You’ve got nice ECs (depending on what/how many others there were) and your SAT is alright for these schools. GPA hurts, but you’re solid for your the places on your list.

I agree that CC should have that separate “area” for those people! I figured this might be a start to that.

Summarily, my list from best fit to worst in your opinion would be, WVU, GMU, ECU then USF,FSU then UCONN? I appreciate your feedback!
