@Ovilla68 Just as the person before me said, they are pretty particular so you need to follow the requirements closely. Here is a very broad explanation, but I only did AP classes, so I did not experience it firsthand https://seaver.pepperdine.edu/academics/academic-support/advising/content/seaver-college-ge-requirements-2015-2016.pdf
I have mentioned before that it is almost expected that you will be taking classes over the summer at some point, either through Pepperdine or a local college near you, so just be mindful of what they require (maybe call and ask about specific courses) and many GE classes should transfer.
We are having a very difficult time choosing between the University of Washington (an apple) and Pepperdine (an orange). My daughter is the absolute worst at making decisions. She desires a general liberal arts background before deciding upon a major.
Any idea whether Pepperdine or UW is a better feeder school into the better universities for law, mba, or phd in a social science (e.g. psychology)?
@bloomfield88 both schools are prestigious for an MBA and Law. If she wants a larger school University of Washington is for her. If she wants a smaller environment, Pepperdine is for her.
University of Washington is regarded as runner up as a Public Ivy.
Pepperdine on the other hand has a high starting salary after graduation. I think around 60k. Most schools are only 50k.
The way I see it is it all depends on opinion. They are very different. It wouldn’t be hard to discuss whether you want to be in a city or a beachtown and whether or not you want to be in a smaller class rather than a large one.
Have any transfer students received their transfer credit report?
Nope I’m pretty sure they said beginning of may in the transfer meeting at the reception @taekwondo123
so what do pepperdine students do during their unusually long summers?
@wavybro123 getting out in April is great for getting a head start on internships and summer jobs. Plenty long for a nice study abroad as well
@txcountry thanks for the info! That’s weird that they wouldn’t release that until after the enrollment date has passed. For me I’m not going to enroll until I know what will transfer from my community college.
Call the counselor at pepp that corresponds to your last name. That’s what I did and he said the Economics department is really relaxed when choosing which units will transfer so for me, all of mine will transfer and apply to my degree. @taekwondo123
Also I sent him a copy of my transcript lol
My son is apply EA for FALL 2019. He is leaning toward a Business Administration Major. SATs is 1330. Solid GPA. Is it best to go Undeclared or select Bus Admin as a major. Which gives him a better chance at getting into Pepperdine?
I got in with 3.8/4.2 GPA, 31 ACT, great ECs.
CA, top 10% of public HS class.
