Hello all! I am a current Pepperdine freshman (class of 2021), and I am here to answer your questions! First of all, those stats everyone is dying to hear:
4.0 UW GPA, 4.2 W. 33 ACT (no SAT). I went to a top public high school in Michigan with around 415 in my class but we did not have class rank. I received the 30k Regents’ scholarship (but that’s it, no need based or work study etc.)
NOTE: I have heard a wide variety of information regarding when financial aid information is released. I got my acceptance email in the afternoon on the 3rd Friday of March last year, and my financial aid information came the next morning, and I also know students who did not receive the Regents’ scholarship and received other amounts (even up to 25k) a few days later. I even have a transfer friend who received financial aid information before her acceptance.
This is the longest post in here and I am not even in this class but I know last year I was dying for some information from a current student, so I’m your girl!
How many Regent scholarships are given out?
Anyone from PA/NY/NJ/DE area heard yet?

haven’t received an email so it may be rejection
It is strictly based on academics, unlike the acceptance which is holistic, so it is the top 10% of applicants. Currently in my class, there are around 60 or 70 girls and 10 or 20 boys, but that is just who decided to actually come.
Daughter just found out she was waitlisted.

Over the past several months, the Admission Committee has carefully reviewed over 12,100 applications that were submitted for the Fall 2018 semester. Given the exceptional quality of our applicant pool, we could have easily admitted two full classes of remarkable students, but unfortunately, we only have approximately 800 admission openings for the Fall 2018 semester. Given our space limitations, the Committee has chosen to offer you a place on the waitlist. Please know that your academic record and personal qualifications were thoroughly considered by the Committee. I want to assure you that any student placed on the waitlist is someone we would like to admit to Pepperdine if space becomes available.
The response from the admitted students determines whether or not we can accept candidates from the waitlist. Waitlisted candidates are not ranked. However, we require that you accept your place on the waitlist if you wish to remain in consideration for the Fall 2018 semester. If we are able to make additional offers of admission, we will review all of the applicants who have accepted their place on the waitlist. Please accept or decline your place on the waitlist by completing the online waitlist form.
Decisions for waitlisted candidates will be finalized after June 15. Soon after this date, you will be notified if space became available. The Office of Admission hopes to be of assistance to you during the next few weeks, but please understand that there is no appeal process for waitlist decisions.
If you would like a hardcopy of your decision letter, please email your request to admission-seaver2@pepperdine.edu.
I appreciate your patience and flexibility with this decision, and wish to convey how impressed we were with your application to Pepperdine University. If you have any further questions about this decision, please visit our waitlist FAQ page.
Sincerely,
Falone J. Serna
Director of Admission
