So, I've been thinking about which college to attend this fall for the past 2 weeks already and last night, I've decided to attend Pepperdine... But after talking to my counselor today, I'm starting to doubt myself again... I'm so confused!!!

Which is better (overall)?! I heard that academically, they're both solid and strong... About the same ranking and level. There are certain pros and cons with each school, so I'm really having a tough time deciding... Help!

Want to know the best way to know if you made the right choice? Commit to a school! Then, think about how you feel. Are you happy? Are you making plans for the fall? Or are you feeling regretful? By doubting yourself, it might show that you aren’t making the right decision.

Trust me, this works. My friend was deciding between BU and Harvard. She stressed for 3 weeks, and then committed to Harvard. The next day, she realized she was unhappy, and switched to BU. Now she’s so happy there!

Pepperdine is considered more prestigious than LMU. There is a running joke that what students at LMU and Pepperdine have in common is that they both got into LMU. Also, whenever I go through the canyon or to LA people always comment on how Pepperdine is a good school when they find out that I go there. LMU is known for being a bit on the wild side.

Lol. I decided to go to LMU after talking to my counselor…
I already submitted my commitment deposit… So I guess no more backing out.
I heard they’re both somehow the same, academic wise. So I just went with the one in a better location = LMU. :)

someone with an “Ilovethebeach” alias claims that an inland college is in a better location than one overlooking the beach.

what is wrong with this picture?

Following his comments on this message board, it probably appears that the decision was made because of the slow on-campus no-party social life on weekends at Pepperdine and the 1:00 am curfews.

I can just go to the beach. LOL. at least I’m also near the city.
I actually like the no-party social life on weekends at Pepperdine, but it’s just too far from the city… and I dont have a car. -__- so LMU would be a better choice in this case.

As long as one has friends you will be going in LA on a regular basis. The 20 mile difference between the two schools is not a good reason to go to a school with a considerable amount of less prestige both locally and on a national basis.

I went to LMU, daughter went to Pepperdine…Pepperdine campus so much better than LMU. Both good academically, Pepperdine run better:) LMU definitely more partying on campus.
