I am a high school senior who is planning to major in Accounting this fall of 2010. I got accepted to Pepperdine, UCI, and CSUF... Where should I go? I didn't get into the UCI business administration so I would be majoring in business econ there and minoring in accounting. I want to go to a school that has a strong business program, a lot of ethnic diversity (not much at Pepperdine!) and isn't much affected by the current budget crisis. Any advice? Why?

Pepperdine is overrated and overpriced given your other fine choices (it is also not very diverse). I think UC Irvine presents the best option for you. The CSU’s are getting hit the hardest budget wise and the UC’s are protected a bit more because they are UC’s (it’s not fair but it is what it is). Pepperdine would be my third option unless they offered you a full scholarship.

UCI sounds ideal to me unless you have specific reasons for wanting to go to a place like Pepperdine and you can easily afford it.

Pepperdine’s business administration program is top notch. I suggest visiting each campus before making a decision, because it will weigh heavily on your choice.
You won’t get much of a “college experience” at CSUF with it being a commuter campus. UCI isn’t necessarily diverse, it just has a great concentration of Asians…
