I’m a Junior in High School and I have a 3.2 UW GPA and a 3.6 W with an upward trend of grades.

Major: Computer Science

Other:

  • i take AP classes
  • I am a URM (Colombian)
  • i am a first generation
    -SAT & ACT Scores - Posting ASAP - Taking SAT on March 14th
  • I spend my some of weekends at the PayPal Headquarters to do some coding on various projects [Web apps, websites, android apps] from time to time and help other people with their code for fun

EC’s:

  • I taught myself to program & they are listed down below:
  • I program: HTML,CSS, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Python, Swift, Objective-C, PHP, and jQuery.
  • I also program in a few frameworks: meteor.js, mySQL, node.js, angular.js [Front-end & back-end development]
  • I have coded a few apps for iOS & have worked on an app for Google Glass that has been recently finished.
    *** The Google Glass app is an Augmented Reality app
    -Currently working on an app for the Apple Watch and will be released when the Apple Watch is released to the mass consumers (made with WatchKit of course)
  • I play soccer
  • Cisco Certified in IT (Information Technology)
  • Cisco Certified in Networking
  • I have a part-time job
  • Releasing my own app on the App Store for iPhone and iPad by the end of this summer ***Will make the Extension of my app for the Apple Watch as well -Google I/O attendee yearly -iOS Developer -Becoming a Google Developer in May [Android, Google Chrome, Google Drive API; open-source]

Note:
-I am asking how I stand with my EC’s & GPA [Not my SAT] :slight_smile:
-Computer Science is a not a popular major at Pepperdine University; My plan is to go on the Missions that Pepperdine offers to its students and also teach the kids we reach to how to code.
-I am a Christian. (Church of Christ)

I would like to add that my grades this semester are going even better. I currently have 4 A’s and 2 B’s and one C.

The 2 B’s are in APUSH and AP Lang. The C is in AP Bio. But of course they are weighted for my UC GPA.

I don’t know much about any of those schools but you have pretty good ECs but the GPA is a little low. However look to continue that upward trend and do well on your SATs and you should be a competitive applicant!

You’ll probably get in but isn’t Pepperdine really expensive? Also isn’t that where they filmed Zoey 101? hahahaa, it’d be awesome to go to school there

But yeah your EC’s are brilliant and will really make you stand out just try and get above an 1800 on the SAT. I also recommend giving a shot at the ACT.
