which has the better rep, which is more fun...any and everything???? ive already been accepted at both

From what i've read Pepperdine has a better reputation & is ranked 56 on College News rankings. I've heard LMU is more "fun" due to Pepperdine being an extremely conservative and religious college. I'm choosing Pepperdine though :)

I think Pepperdine has a better academic reputation.

What about social life at Pepperdine. I'm an sooo not a partier but I keep hearing about how remote Pepperdine is. I also was accepted to both LMU and Pepperdine. Haven't heard anything about Scholarships from Pepperdine yet though

According to a good friend who is a freshman at Pepperdine, the fun happens off campus. People go to parties and clubs, but they do not act like it on campus, which maintains an academic atmosphere.

LMU's business school is better than Pepperdine's business school if you are planning on majoring in business.
LMU's selective ranking for business is 81 compared to Pepperdine's which is 79. I read it from a recently updated business school book yesterday -_-;; Not much of a big difference but yeah.
And for fun, definetly LMU! It's right next to LA :) Everyone I know that go to LMU is so happy there.. hahaha.

That's really helpful since I am going to major in business.Where do LMUers go in LA - Marina del rey, santa monica?

Definetly hanging around the beach, Melrose, Hollywood, anything that floats their boat! haha
There's a party bus that takes LMU students every Thursday to clubs, bars, etc. =)

LMU students and Pepperdine students all hang out in LA, Hollywood, Santa Monica, beaches. The distance isn't much different. Definitely find drinking on campus at LMU not Pepperdine. Parties off campus for both. Both good academics, Jesuits tend to offer decent money, Pepperdine administration hands down better than LMU.

well i hope thats not the case for me cuz i got a mediocre amount from LMU, and money basically will determine if i go to pepperdine...

If it helps I got a lot more $ from PU than LMU

well that is reassuring considering half my offer from LMU was calculated as “Student Work”, not entirely what i was looking for…

well thats changed for me now, just got half tuition at LMU…id rather go to pepperdine tho so i hope it works out

oo thanks for this guys!! i was soo torn between these two schools but i’ve made my decision. Pepperdine here i come!!! :D

Yay, see you in the Fall, SamisonaWAVE!

yes, if i can get similar money i will go to pepperdine

Pepperdine is better for an MBA. And Loyola is better for their law school.

I’m majoring in business and debating between pepperdine and Indiana U…I would like to go to Pepperdine, but most people I’ve talked to said there are no parties and nothing happens at pepperdine except if you drive 20 minutes or so…So do think you really need a car at Pepperdine to have fun? also, are a lot of students at pepperdine very conservative and against drinking and that stuff? thanks

adrryno28 - I honestly know a handful of a students who consider themselves “against drinking.” There are parties every weekend around campus if that is what you want to do. About half of students have cars here. I’d recommend it, but I did fine without one. It’s not like you’re going to drive yourself to a party and back.

Someone explain to me why in order to have fun, one has to be inebriated?
