I've received an email notifying me that I've been wait listed, I accepted considering Pepperdine is my first choice :) What are the chances of getting off the waitlist??? I heard it's really slim... is that true? Does anyone know of someone who was wait listed get accepted?

I hear it’s more likely if you continue to give updates and show interest. Don’t just leave it as it is.

And how do I do that??? ):

Stay in contact with your admissions officer, send updates on academics and extracurriculars, perhaps take a visit to campus and actually sit down with admis. officer, maybe retake the ACT/SAT’s…etc! Good luck!

Does anyone know how likely it is to get in off of a waitlist?

I am a waitlisted transfer. Is that more likely or less likely to be accepted than a waitlisted freshman? heeelp.

Speaking as a current freshman at Pepperdine, I know they admitted too many people last year. The class of 2016 is Pepperdine’s largest in history; the campus housing, etc. literally couldn’t fit all of us.

I also know that a record number of student applied to Pepperdine this year. I personally know a couple very qualified students who were straight-up rejected.

That being said, don’t feel bad if you’re on the waitlist. Whether or not you get in depends on how many students choose Pepperdine, of course, but you’ll for sure end up where you’re meant to be. If it’s any consolation, tuition is going up 5% next year so there may be more declines!

Best of luck to all :)

Did any waitlisters have an updated to-do list on their wavenet portal?
Mine says:
To Do List
13-14 Parent IRS Transcript
13-14 V1 Tracking Form
2012 Income/Expense Statement

This is the first time I checked since around 2 weeks so I don’t know how long it’s been there. Technically, Pepperdine did not ask for these forms to be filled out (by email or any form of contact) so am I required to submit them?

does anyone know when they will tell students if they got in off the waitlist?

yes, you do have to fill these out. I remember doing that.

Has anyone heard back from the waitlist yet?

Just make sure to show interest. My friend was waitlisted, and she sent emails from time to time. She eventually got in.

Waitlisted as well. Pretty frustrating.

I read in the wait list FAQ that they haven’t accepted anyone from the wait list in two years, not to be a negative Nancy. I’m wait listed as well, so I feel your pain. Supposedly we should hear if there are any spots made available after June 15th.

I am waitlisted as well, but in my email they offered me guaranteed admission for spring of 2015(starting in January)… Did anyone else get this offer? Too bad considering Pepperdine was my number one

I got waitlisted but it didn’t say anything about Spring 2015 for me

@xcvwqp would you mind posting a screenshot of your letter? I was wait listed and considering going for spring, but I didn’t realize that they offered guaranteed admission in the letter don’t think I got it

@LRxoxo - I do not know how to post photos on this website but if you can think of another way for me to show you I would be happy to send you a screenshot!

I was waitlisted too and I did not get anything about guaranteed admission for Spring. Additionally, Pepperdine never sent me an email about setting up wavenet. Looks like I better focus on other colleges.

D was disappointed when she found out she was waitlisted, as she really liked pretty much everything about Pepperdine. Academics and ECs were strong, although admittedly she struggled with the faith essay. Fortunately, she was admitted to all other schools to date, including one of her very top choices.

Alas, all things happen for a reason. Best of luck everyone!
