Percent admitted?

What percent do you think were admitted this year?

Record low i'd say...best guess, probably 35%

I'm sure it's lower. But it is definitely tufter to get in...

anyone know what the average transfer acceptance percent is?

I have no idea how many people got admitted this year, but I was pretty surprised when I got rejected. I had a 2180 on my SAT's, 700, 760 on my SAT II's, 6th in my class, university research project, science prizes, 15+ extra cirriculars choirs, track, Model UN, class president, etc etc. Ulllgh I just got my letter I'm really frustrated.....

sorry Molly, i am not sure what held them from accepting you but i would call and ask

Molly, my guess is that GW didn't think you would go there and were relying on it as a safety school. If you really want to get in, you should call and appeal or get your guidance counsellor to call on your behalf.

Molly I know of about five kids in your situation, GW was not a safety but certainly a match, and GW is not the only school to reject kids who would have been a great fit, its been a crazy year as most can attest to! I wish you luck, where did you get in? What was your first choice?

I heard through another parent that GW's rate this year was a recrod low of 32%. I have no way of knowing if that is heresay or fact.

They said there were over 19,000 applicants for their incoming freshman class of 2350. I know that doesn't illustrate acceptance rate, but puts it into perspective.

I got wait listed at GW. And I was so surprised!

I'm hoping to send them a letter of recc, a letter, and give them a call. I really want to go there and everyone I've talked to is shocked.

But then again, this year has been kinda crazy... my friend was wait listed at 6 schools and he is second in the class. Its insane.

yeah....this year is crazy...i got 5 rejections today cornell, dartmouth, columbia, georgetown and princeton......and my stats are pretty good comparable to the students admitted...
