Percent chance I can get into Columbia?

I want to do pre-med, but I just might pick SEAS for biomedical engineering. lol

Do I have a single digit percent chance like everyone else? :/

Hooks?

-Came to U.S. when i was 8, didn't know a word of english
-Girl interested in engineering?
-research? Stanford Prof writing me a supplementary rec

OTHER STUFF: ASIAN FEMALE

coming to the US at age 8 w/o speaking a word of english, and then accomplishing all of this (including scoring really well on many non-math tests) is impressive! good job. i'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting in - academic and test stats are strong, and ec's are good enough (although could be better). 30% chance just because ivies are crazy. maybe a little higher for seas.

Thanks beef. People used to tell me that since i'm in the bay area, there are TONS of high-achieving immigrants, so I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Especially because I came to the US about 9 long years ago.

yup, u definetly have a shot. good luck

you have a great shot
good luck girl :)

Thanks guys. Feedback seems really positive...

When I posted my stats in the Stanford forum, people were like "you have ok chances. apply somehwere else for early where you have a better chance of getting in"

Isn't Columbia kind of on the same level as Stanford?

Columbia SEAS vs. Stanford engineering? Nope.

um Stanford doesn't have impacted majors?

I wasn't even sure if i was for sure doing Columbia SEAS
For Stanford, I was going with Chemistry
