I'm planning to apply ED to Rice. Does anyone know what the percentage of girls in the Computer Science major?

If it is not a very high percentage, do you think this gives me an advantage in my application because I am a girl who is totally dedicated to the Computer Science field?

(I can’t seem to find the edit button on the post) Ok sorry to post another question along with the question before, but I am really worried right now.

Rice is definitely my first choice university. However, I hear ED is more competitive than RD. I don’t know whether to apply ED or RD now.

Pros of ED:
33% acceptance rate
fewer applicants – abouth 800
always a 2nd chance if deferred…

Pros of RD:
less competitive

Cons of ED:
More competitive pool

Cons of RD:
more applicants
less percentage acceptance (22%)

I honestly don’t know what to do. I was going to definitely apply ED, but now I’m rethinking about my decision.

If anyone can help, that would greatly appreciated.

Are merit scholarships and financial aid an important part of your requirements? If you need money assistance to go, ED means you do not have other offers to compare and negotiate with. Generally, the more money is an important factor in attendance, the less I would recommend ED. If money is not a factor and Rice is where you really want to go, try ED.
