<p>@MWFN – as others have said, a lot of times you don’t fully complete Latin Honors unless you’re pretty sure you’re going to qualify for it, or at least have a good shot. The way it works for most students is that they naturally complete most of the Latin Honors requirements and then during junior or senior year they decide if they’re going to make room for those last few classes or if they’re just going to say “heck with it” and just not qualify. It’s a self selecting pool, in other words.</p>
<p>As I expected, a wealth of great advice re: advisors, with all personal detailed observations caveat-ed as such and no sweeping generalizations posing as THE definitive word. I’m thinkin’ that Smith education might be good even after graduation! Thank you all so much!</p>
<p>I will attempt to remain in my own advisory role as D has increasingly had the audacity to want to spread her own wings. This parenting major always seems to spring more requirements on me in order to graduate… and I even take summer sessions. </p>
<p>However, with the help of CC, I will now be able to drop some well crafted hints that, while initially taken along with mega eye rolls, may later become part of her own decision making. </p>
