percentiles vs. scores?

are SAT II percentiles put into consideration? for example, a 790 on chinese translates into a 40-something percentile... likewise, an 800 on math ii is not as impressive as an 800 in math i. how do colleges look at this and how should we?

:-) thanks!

Adcoms at selective schools are sophisticated in reading the SATII scores. They'll be less impressed by a 790 on chinese by someone who grew up in a home where chinese was spoken, and impressed by an student who started Chinese from scratch who scores a 600 on the same test; more impressed by similar scores on mathII than mathI, etc.

I know, I was wondering about this because UCs only look at the top two scores, but my third score (790 Lit) is probably more impressive than my 800 in IIc.

hmm. if that's the case should we choose tests that we can get more impressive scores holistically in? i just kind of went with the ones that i knew would give me high numbers (chinese, math ii, spanish) lol.

Take the tests that you will score the highest on, but realize a 800 on a language test by a native speaker is not impressive and adcoms realize this.
