Hey-
I'm a percussion performance major going into my sophomore year this fall. I'm considering transfering for my junior year. I can't really put my finger on what it is, but I just dont feel comfortable there. I didn't do that great academically last year, which doesnt help, but Im going to work on that this year. If anyone knows of any urban colleges/universities with solid percussion/music programs that I could look into, that would be really great.
Thanks so much

what area of the country? Are you interested in classical or jazz, etc? My S is percussion performance, also going to be a sophomore. He auditioned at UNT, Belmont and NIU.

I’m currently on the east coast mid atl but ill go as far as midwest- I was actually looking at schools in chicago. And classical percussion is my focus.

DePaul is classically focused. S is going to apply there for his master’s. Northwestern has a Chicago Symphony Orchestra percussionist on their faculty. S is going there for a percussion symposium in 2 weeks. S goes to the Chicago Symphony a lot-1 hour train ride from NIU-they are amazing!
