Perez's (AEM 1200) Final Group Project - Help?

Just wanted some help from someone who has had this class - do you recommend the group project over taking the final?

I'd like to make a high grade in this class, and I was wondering how much work goes into the project, and how tough it's graded? Is it common to get an A on the project?

Thanks

I took his class last semester, and I have to say that the group project definitely helped me. The project involves a decent amount of work, but you’re working with 2 other people so it’s not too bad - don’t leave everything to the last minute and you’ll probably do fine. It’s just a lot of analysis and financial ratios. (I’m not saying you can’t do it in a day, because you definitely can, but it’s a lot less stressful if you don’t.)

His TAs take points off like no other, though, if you don’t follow the directions to the T, so be warned. I got a 90 (which allowed me to drop a low prelim grade) on the project, but I know plenty of people who either blew off their project until the last minute or didn’t pay attention/follow the directions and got 60s or 70s.

It’s kind of funny though, you’ll probably see a lot of people in your class at Mann working frantically the night before. That and you’ll probably see quite a few facebook statuses cursing the project (or Perez) then too.

I think the average for the project was around 83 last semester. Our group pulled of a 93, but it did require paying attention to detail carefully. As long as you give yourself ample time, it isn’t too bad. It ended up working out for me, was nice having one less final to wry about. (i wouldn’t know anything about the difficulty of the final)

Okay. So if you really try hard it should be easy to pull an A?
