@Chembiodad, I agree. I refer to his UChicago app as his “moon shot.” 
Luckily, he has plenty of good backup plans and other options.
I do hope, though, that if his GPA simply doesn’t make the cut that they flat out reject him rather than defer, which will give him false hope.
