Hey guys , I'm an international student from Turkey wanting to go for higher education to the US.

My target colleges are:
Harvard
Stanford
Yale
Princeton
Dartmouth
UPenn
Brown
Cornell
Duke

I know I don't have any safeties/matches , but these are the only colleges my father would finance , cause I'm eligible for a full ride in the top Turkish Colleges.
Top Colleges here give full rides to top 5 students of public schools,

Hooks - 1st Gen to go to College( is it a hook?)

Why are those your target colleges?

That’s because my dad won’t send me abroad if I don’t get into at least one of them . I am getting a full ride at most of the top Turkish Colleges , so he said if I can get into one of them , he’ll be willing to finance my education in USA with a little bit of aid from the college hopefully.

Amazing Stats and ECs dude…
Although ivies are a crapshoot for anyone , I would say

Harvard/Yale/Princeton/Stanford - Mid Reach
Dartmouth/Upenn Wharton/Brown - Low Reach
Cornell/Duke/Upenn CAS - Match / Slight reach

All of these schools are super-selective, and each rejects candidates with 4.0 and 2400 every year. There is no way anyone can accurately chance you.

What I will tell you is, if your father will only pay for those schools, I would suggest cutting down the list to the ones with the bet fit for you. The is no commonality among those colleges other than prestige, and there are few students, if any, would be happy at all of these schools. The campus life in Hanover, NH is different from life in University City, PA. The applicant who loves Brown’s Open Curriculum will probably not be happy with Harvard’s Gen Ed requirements.

As each school will have a variation of “Why XXX University” as part of the application, one chance to shine is in how you answer that question. Spinning that question on different applications that require 9 different answers will be time-consuming, and possibly fruitless at the end.

You may also want to consider that some of these schools are less of a logistical challenge to get to from Turkey.

You will most probably get into at least 1 of those. I think you will be admitted to 2-3 of those. I am not sure about the Financial Aid for international

@skieurope Yeah I agree with you , I visited USA last year and many of these colleges , and discounted Columbia and NYU simply because I disliked the whole non-college feel and the NYC (big city) feel .Also I’m worried about are Princeton with its grade deflation and rigorous curriculum. The other colleges are all different but I’m sure I’ll be able to adapt a bit.

MIT/Caltech seem a bit too technical for me, and also chances of getting in without IMO medals or major science research are extremely slim, especially for us internationals.

Dude why not apply EA or Ed to your favourite school to increase your chances?

Why are you applying to every ivy (save for Columbia). Don’t apply just for prestige, because in the case you are admitted, you might be dissappointed once you attend.

But yeah you have a good chance, even for the HYPs

@FenixWarrior97 Yeah I’m going to apply to Harvard SCEA

it looks like you should be fine, but yeah its interesting that you are applying to almost every ivy. I dont discourage applying to all them, but each one is so much different the others that if accepted at more than one, you should be aware of the differences when making the decision (which I’m sure you already know). Good luck!

Please chance back (and include chances for Dartmouth as well):

Great scores, but you should cut down this list. Just because the Ivys are world renowned doesn’t mean they’re the perfect match for you, so make sure you visit them and like the environment and stuff. I suggest having a main dream school or two and then safeties. I second @Mudbloodprince97 's opinion! Anyway, good luck!
