Perferred Admission at Ross

I am a high school senior looking to apply to the University of Michigan. I would like to major in finance. From looking at U of M's website it seems that only people who choose early decision can apply for perferred admission. Can I apply for perferred admission to Ross and still use regular decision? Do I have a smaller chance of getting accepted if I do not do early decision?

There is no Early Decision at U of M, only Early Action. Ross gives preference to Early Action applicants, so they’ll give your application a better look, [according to this](<a href=“Bachelor of Business Administration | Michigan Ross”>Bachelor of Business Administration | Michigan Ross).

This doesn’t mean you can’t apply for pre-admit after the EA deadline of November 1st, though.

You would find out about your Ross decision up to 16 weeks after your UMich admissions decision, so if you apply EA you should expect your Ross pre-admit decision no later than March 1st.

OK so I can still apply for it if I choose regular decision, but does my application still have to he sent in early
You might have already answered this, but just need some clarification
Thanks

No, you can apply anytime before the January 31st application deadline and get a preferred admission decision from Ross.

The problem with applying that late is that there’s a small chance you not get a decision until you’re already enrolled, whether at UMich or somewhere else.

I would highly recommend early action as there are no negative consequences to applying that way.
