soon all the last minute reg deadliners (Jan. 15) will be throwing their apps to the UW. is there any benefit to having applied priority (Dec. 1)? what if u are highly qualified but not quite as magnificent as, say, t4? do we hear anything earlier because we applied earlier? does a 3.6 uw with a 1300 SAT and equal ecs and essays have any advantage over someone with similar stats who applies later? clearly the diff some had in checking their status online recently was due to lil admission elves putting exciting info on the accounts of some worthy applicants gl to all you very worthy applicants

hmmm...i've actually wondered about that too. but I believe meeting the priority deadline does give somewhat of an advantage. i know someone that has gotten deferred because they ran out of spots but they did not submit their application in november -> they submitted it in late december.

from what i've heard, the only reason to apply before dec 1st is for financial aid .. since uw doesn't follow rolling admissions anymore.
and that's why they keep telling applicants not to expect a response til march or april, I guess.
all this waiting is so frustrating!!

um no. dec 1st is the priority date for scholarships. you can still get financial aid - just not scholarships.

if you're a fairly strong candidate you can expect to get a response from UW really soon (like..now) if you applied before Dec 1st.
