Hello, I applied for UVA Early Decision and I was checking my application status and it says I need a Virginia Status - Permanent Resident Card. I tried searching on the admission website and it doesn’t really define what a resident card is. Can someone help me? Is it just my parent’s driver’s license? I emailed the admissions but I don’t expect them to reply soon.
I’m assuming they are referring to a Permanent Residency Card a.k.a “Green Card”. This is a permanent legal status right behind U.S. Citizenship.
For many state schools, financial aid are forms of federal grants (correct me if I’m wrong) and or federal loans, which are only available to U.S. Citizens OR U.S. Permanent Residents.
This is why they might request that.
Here’s the Office of Virginia Status website. Their contact info is there: https://vastatus.virginia.edu/
