Permit to Report

anyone know when these will be mailed out?

It said ‘mid-april’ on the letter, so any day now

It feels good to be going insane and checking the mailbox every day again. I was honestly missing it for awhile ;)

During a CVW visit at the end of March, all candidates were told that the Permit to Report packages would be sent out Mid-May vice Mid- April as stated in the Offer of Appointment letter.

Admissions Office representatives indicated that despite the orignal Mid-April target date, we should expect them in May…

So you can all relax and take a deep breath.

The CABS is also not yet up and online: [USNA Candidate Academic Background System](http://cabs.usna.edu/)

The CABS web page still carries the following msg: The Candidate Academic Background System for the Class of 2013 will be activated in early April 2009 for candidates who have been accepted to USNA.

Congratulations to all of you who have received the “Big Blue” envelope!

^I can confirm this. I am at CVW atm and they just told us that

CABS? Is that a program to give placement exams?

CABS seems to be up and running even though I havn’t recieved my Permit to Report package yet. i was able to log in okay.

Welcome to USNA where the motto is “hurry up and wait!”

Honestly folks- you will get the package in time to get everything done that needs getting done. Hang in. Focus on getting THIS academic year done. You don’t want to be the candidate who has his/her appointment withdrawn because of some last minute academic failures! Stay focused on more than your mailbox!

dude thats not just USNA… thats the fleet.

To those of you getting your permit to report packages, get ready. In a few weeks, you’ll understand.

Welcome to the suck

HAH… you’re so right BlueSky.

My experience in the Navy is quite literally OUTLINED by that motto. They always have you get ready to do something important, something huge… and then nothing happens. And you wait. And wait.

Just gotta get used to it all, and go with the flow. Just know, If something goes smoothly in the Navy… be worried. ;)
