Personal Application and Test Scores

Hi,

I've been reading this forum for a year or two now and although I haven't seen any threads about it, I assume the personal applications are still sent out to prospective students. I'm on vacation right now so I'm not sure if I got one but I had some questions about it. My test scores are pretty decent right now (31, 2070) and I could apply with them but I would rather use the scores I get from the ACT in September to apply. Would it be too late to turn in my personal application after I get the scores back from the September ACT or should I apply as soon as possible? From what I've read, the earlier you apply the more money you get and that is one of my main concerns.

You can apply with your current test scores and then send your new ones when they come in. Thats what I did. I applied early with a 28 and got accepted but with no scholarships. Then I sent my new scores from the October ACT and they offered me the Presidential scholarship and admissions to the honors college.

awesome thanks

Just in case you are going to do something based on the thought that a “Personal Application” is something special: a “Personal Application” is just their regular application.

I had a client (2 years ago) apply with 2030 (near perfect reading/writing horrible math) and a phenominal essay and she got the $98,000 merit scholarship (over 4 years) I think Tulane got exponentially more competitive since then, because word got out in the college prep community that their merit money was second to none at the time and they were flooded with Applications last year.

aplofchan - When my D applied EA her October SAT scores arrived in plenty of time to be considered. Frankly I think your current scores are sufficient to get you admitted. Good luck with ALL your applications!
