OK it is getting closer so what would the new 3 degrees suggest a personal bag contain. i.e. (toiletries, things that might be helpfull immediately).? What did you wish yiou had packed in that bag? Size bag? Logo’s no Logo’s? Girls info would be helpfull too.

In terms of what to bring on I-Day you mean? They issue you the basic toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, stuff like that), so unless you have specific stuff that you like/need to have, you won't really need to bring any toiletries. Basically, I would suggest bringing as little as possible initially. You'll be on your feet all day on I-Day, and you'll have to carry (in your hands) that bag around, so the bigger it is, the worse off you will be, especially if coming from lower altitudes. Also, they make you put the bag into storage at the end of the day anyways, and they make sure you don't have any contraband (food, unauthorized clothing, etc etc). I don't think logos would have any real impact unless they draw excessive attention to them.

for girls, think feminine products -- since you asked!

guys: razor (electric for sure, manual too if you want), change of clothes maybe for the night before I-day.
Girls: Underwear, sports bras, feminine products, change of clothes maybe.

If you want, pack your cell phone so you can grab it August 31st before your parent's come to coordinate.

And any forms they might want as well.

...and boots :) if you have them already...

I hope America's best and brightest would remember those too. ;)

What about pre-addressed/stamped envelopes? I figured it would be easier and would save some precious time during BCT, but would it be taken away if I were to bring 'em with me on I-day?

That would also be a good thing, should be able to keep it.

What kinds of stationary can we bring/keep/have? Does it have to be plain?

Not sure, anything is probably fine really. Bright pink stationary may get your cadre's attention though.

You are also issued stamps, envelopes, and stationary too.

I would bring some TP, vandy's TP is pretty rough.

I know this is the dumbest question in the world, but should we bring the boots in the boxes if we've kept them?
And how long will it be until we change into our uniforms (from the time we get there)?

Take them out of the box for sure. Put them around your neck (wear a collared shirt!)

You will be in uniform within an hour or so of getting off the bus.

I might be wrong, but I think that even though 2010 got into uniform quickly, they were still carrying boots because they had to wear issue athletic shoes with their BDU's.

Yup, that's true too. But, if you bring boots in a box, then you have to carry that around which I think is harder personally.

Yeah I got both pairs of boots at orientation... that'll be fun to carry... two shoulders I guess. :)

I kept my box because I was afraid my boots were too big and I didn't want to get them dirty.
This really has nothing to do with the topic, but I'm just making sure: we're entering through the north gate on the 28th, not south gate, unless we have military id?

I can't remember right now. I think I recall something about going through the S Gate, however. Does anyone remember where it says where we are supposed to go?

My book says to enter off the highway at the clearly marked exits- only problem is that there are two such exits off the highway. I know that we've been pulled over and sent right back for trying to enter through south gate before, but this may be different this time and it would be advantageous for my family to go through south gate since we live here in the Springs. Anyone know where we can get in?
Regardless, somehow we're supposed to end up at Doolittle Hall by 11:00 a.m. or something like that.

I would recommend showing up a little earlier, since 11:00 is the "deadline" as far as showing up goes. I'll probably try to show up around 8:00-8:30 (doors open at 7:00).
