I'm sure a lot of you have been getting emails/letters from colleges saying that if you apply there they will waive the application fee, won't require an additional essay, and you will be automatically considered for scholarships. They also say that they will make an admission decision within a few weeks. My question is would applying to these schools through their "Priority Applications" interfere with applying traditional Early Decision through a legitimate university. Also University of Michigan has this thing called Early Response, does that interfere with ED or EA?

Applying with these priority apps, if they are not binding, will not interfere with ED. However, they may interfere with Single Choice Early Action.

I know for a fact that Yale's SCEA will permit an applicant to also apply to UM's Early Response. The admissions rep spoke about it directly and it seems that Yale took time to consider the fine details of the UM policy -- so it may or may not be the same across the board w/similar programs. I'd say it's best to contact the SCEA college you're intending and ask them directly (unless they happen to be Yale and U-M!)

^i didn't mean any offense by it if that's what you're getting at. i just meant the upper tier schools that i actually want to go to (my non-safety schools).
