<p>I would not recommend it. You want to bring something else to the table and show more about yourself in your personal statement. </p>
<p>I know people who have done that and have gotten denied from some of their top schools due to that.</p>
<p>The “topic” choice for the personal statement is really just a backdrop for the real topic: you. If there were an incident/event involving that EC that tested you, strengthened you, or changed you, then perhaps you could mention the EC. Otherwise, don’t do it.</p>
