I am currently in the process of writing my essays. I am applying to Berkeley as a Media Studies major and to UCLA as a Psych major.

Most of my EC's are related to communication/media studies (freelance writer, school paper etc) but Psych is a huge interest as well (I went to a high school program with a strong focus on natural sciences and was awarded with a prestigious scholarship in chemistry).

I'm thinking about writing that I want to double major. Would this be a good strategy?

OR

Perhaps I could write that I eventually plan to go to business school, and that both Psych and Media Studies could lead to that.

My GPA is 4.0 and I know that grades and prereq's matter most. I'm also a first generation student going to college. But I'm still worried about how to write my essays.

hm…this is a tough situation but because you have a high GPA and it you seem to have a plan, you look credible.

I would go with whatever you’re comfortable with but I personally like the double major. If you write about that, try to incorporate why you’re applying to MS at Cal and Psych at UCLA.

some say #1 is more important because but most say that they are equally important.
But you should put equal effort into each and perfect each one to the best of your ability.
