What are the personal statement questions for transfer students?

I looked at the UC website but my transfer counselor said something different. I'm also wondering if the personal statement questions are different for those students who are trying to transfer to HAAS?

It looks like Berkeley is one of your choices...go to this link and click on the transfer flyer pdf on the right side. I think it's on page 4...this is what I studied for 3 months before applying & writing my statement.
http://students.berkeley.edu/admissions/transfer.asp
btw...all undergraduates have the same prompts for their personal statements, however later on, a few of the majors have to do a supplementary statement

They took away the last question but the other two I think are the same from last year. So now instead of three questions there's two. Don't know if the word limit is the same though.

feel free to ignore lostincode......Berkeley most certainly does read the personal statements for transfer students (I know this for a fact). Most UC's only ready freshmen personal statements, but Cal is one of only two that read them for transfers.

Transfer applicants only: What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the field developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement.

Potential to Contribute Question
UC welcomes the contributions each student brings to the campus learning community. This question seeks to determine an applicant’s academic or creative interests and potential to contribute to the vitality of the University.

Tell us about a talent, experience, contribution or personal quality you will bring to the University of California.

Open-Ended Question
This question seeks to give students the opportunity to share important aspects of their schooling or their lives — such as their personal circumstances, family experiences and opportunities that were or were not available at their school or college — that may not have been sufficiently addressed elsewhere in the application.

Is there anything you would like us to know about you or your academic record that you have not had the opportunity to describe elsewhere in this application?

I been through this twice. I was a jr. college student who was rejected from Haas for Fall 2006, and unfortunately Fall 2007. I was rejected for Fall 2006 because the courses I took and the ones Haas required were incongruent. Shame on me for not taking their transfer articulation agreement seriously. And of course I was very upset about getting rejected for Fall 2007. However, I can tell you some things about getting into Haas because I know someone who was accepted as a transfer. You better have a 4.0 GPA, complete all required prerequisites and GE courses, and show you got experience under your belt such as accounting or business related internships. This school is ultra competitive for an undergrad business program. Gook Luck.

* Respond to both prompts, using a maximum of 1,000 words total.
* You may allocate the word count as you wish. If you choose to respond to one prompt at greater length, we suggest your shorter answer be no less than 250 words.
* Stay within the word limit as closely as you can. A little over—1,012 words, for example—is fine.
Prompt #1 (freshman applicants)
Describe the world you come from – for example, your family, community or school – and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

** Prompt #1 (transfer applicants)**

What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field – such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities – and what you have gained from your involvement. Prompt #2 (all applicants)
Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are

That is only for Winter/Spring 2008...starting with Fall 2008 there is no longer an open ended Q.

The Personal Statement prompts will change for fall 2008 applicants. Make sure to read the instructions and prompts that apply to the term to which you are applying.

In addition to those 3 general questions that all prospective UC transfer students have to answer, Haas requires that you respond to 1 of 2 questions; for Fall 2007 they asked something like: Old Navy's business is declining due to competition from Walmart and Target, because they can offer similiar level clothing at cheaper prices, how would you improve Old Navy's situation? The second question is: what leadership traits or qualities can you bring to Berkeley's environment?
