I can’t help the enemy!! I am also applying to UCSB Business Economics.

I’m just kidding, Kinda.

I wrote my personal statement about an economics teacher that has been very influential in my life. It sounds cliche, but my appreciation of him is genuine, and it comes through in the essay.

I thought the only schools that even looked at the personal statement were UCB and UCLA?

i thought so too. is that true?

There’s speculation that UCLA and CAL are the only schools that read the personal statements, however, considering that the personal statement is still a component of the application to any UC school it would make sense to write at least something no matter where you apply.

Obviously you have to write something, but there is more than just speculation regarding the personal statements. According to the link below, only UCB, UCLA, UCI and UCM look at the personal statements for determining admissions.
