For those of you who have been accepted (congrats!), did you include a lot in your personal statement, or did you leave it relatively short? Did you not put anything at all?
I’m having some trouble figuring out what I should do there, and was hoping for some input from you guys.
Hey!
Are you referring to “Other Talents, Achievements, Activities”? I wrote about ~240 words, and it wasn’t really a personal statement- I actually just divided my remaining ECs (elaborated on a few already mentioned) & some pursued hobbies into categories- “Languages, Honors, Activities, Elaborations on aforementioned activities” etc etc.
If you’re still feeling nervous (which is totally fine, I wrote up this list half-awake the day the application came out, hit submit, and got soooo scared I’d written something wrong), I can share my OTAA section with you by PM!
Good luck & Ski-U-Mah!
@freezycool – Hey! thanks for your response.
I think I’m okay with the OTAA section - I’m more concerned with the Special Circumstances and Additional Information box. I know it’s completely optional to put anything there, but the idea of leaving it blank bothers me… Did you put anything in that one?
@hannahyalea Ohhhh! Personally I didn’t write anything because at the time of submission, I wasn’t sure whether or not I’d want to include some information. I ended up sending a letter detailing my situation.
Neither of my twins put anything in that section.
My son wrote one sentence for this section, about having lived in a foreign country for one year (during elementary school). It didn’t seem to belong anywhere else, but he wanted to mention it.
