Tell us something that you have not already told us in this application that will help us to better understand your potential for academic success as a college student.
“Academic” is in bold.
I am a bit confused what they would like here. It is a personal statement, but I can’t think of anything personal I could tell them that would express who I am with relation to academic success. Isn’t the point of the essay to learn more about a student other than their stats?
My opinion only is that they want something about you that informs them of how you can succeed academically. That doesn’t have to be stats. It can explain how your stats don’t reflect your ability - special circumstances that make you feel like your potential in future is greater that what grades reflect. Or it could be an area you are interested in that you couldn’t explore in HS. It could be more in depth about an EC that is driving your choice of major (side business, family situation, personal experience) - things that may not be obvious on a transcript. It could be how you were a home schooled, military or expat educated student. Or how getting a student government position ignited your interest in politics. Etc. I think almost anything that rounds you out as person can be hooked into academic success in college.
