so I want to transfer to UC Davis this upcoming fall. However, I was digging around old posts from here and they said UC Davis doesn't read personal statements?! The thread was in 2011 and I even read some in 2008, but does anyone know if they read personal statements now?
The UC Davis site says that personal statements are important, so I'm a little confused. Was it because they used to not read them and now they do? Or is the fact that they don't read personal statements an unspoken truth?

By default all the UCs have to state how important the personal statement is in the admissions process but in actuality only UC Berkeley and UCLA are holistic in their evaluation process. The rest of the UCs essentially just look at your GPA
