Personal suggestions for pre med/neuro?

2050 SAT (retaking) 4.0 gpa, 11 APs, research lab intern, varsity athlete, NHS, etc

What schools do you personally think are the best for pre-med/neuroscience and why?

Thanks!

The best are ones that you can well-afford and where you’ll get the best grades.

I wouldn’t worry about whether a school actually has neuro as a major. Not necessary at all for a premed, even if you think you want to go into neurology.

What is your home state? How much will your family pay?

Like @mom2collegekids said, it should be somewhere where you can have a good GPA and also find good research opportunities.

Weighted GPA?

Are you looking for a larger school or a smaller school/LAC?

What state are you from?

Good luck!!

Why: undergraduate focus, solid for your interests, suitable for your profile (though some would be reaches). Consider these schools to be a sampling of what’s available.

You would qualify for a lot of fine schools. You need to first narrow things down. How much you can spend on college (knowing med school might be in your future)? Are there any limitations you might have on your college choices? And what you want in a college (ex. size of school, location of school geographically, urban/suburban/rural, Greek Life, research opportunities, big time sports…really anything that is important to you)?

Need more info.

Carleton and Amherst both reaches with no merit aid, so both will be well north of $250K for 4 years, not good for someone also looking at Med School too.
