Personal Website

Has anyone created their own website to showcase your accomplishments, projects, interests, or whatever to submit as supplementary materials to your college applications? I'm considering making a site for myself, and I was curious if anyone has done anything similar? If so, what did you include on your site? Basic stats? Personal Info? If you have a link that would be great too!

Honestly, don't do it. Anyone can make a website nowadays.

I understand that, but why should it stop me from making one of my own?

Well since anyone can do it, it's not very impressive to make your own website. Thus, if you sent it in as a supplementary material, you would be wasting the officers time. In addition, it could make you look narcissistic if you devoted an entire website to your accomplishments. Basically, I don't see any way that an admissions officer would be impressed by this.

I've heard of people having their own website for other things (i know somebody who was the webmaster of several websites... like for this charity fund thing, and also one about the environment... she used it to show how she was into webdesign though and had the internships and stuff at computer-related places etc to back it up though.)
but the whole supplementary thing, to highlight your accomplishments.. that sounds ridiculous to me

Personally I think adcoms already have a lot to deal with, but I suppose some people really want to take advantage of the information availability and exposure the web offers.

Case in point - *****.com . Read the creator's story. So I guess it's worth a shot.

So, um, last I remember, z i n c h was not a cuss word.

It is on CC. Seriously, they filter the most insane **** on this website.
