Do you think boarding schools prefer a certain personality type? Or are they looking for a mix of different types to build a well rounded community? For example, if all are extroverted, type A leader types, don't you need some doers, too? Beyond a desire for an intelligent child who will take advantage of the opportunities provided and be actively engaged in areas of passion and interest, does a more introverted type have the same chance as an extroverted one? Not sure if I'm making sense here or not... opinions please.

My take on bs, is that they are alot like colleges. They are trying to build communities. Like any community, you'll need potential leaders, musicians, scientists/math people, humanties, sports etc. Essentially you have built your own self sufficient town/ community.

that's true, people get rejected who are really smart or have amazing personalities, I think the schools just want people who will succeed in the individual school and be an asset to the community, because like you said you can't have 500 strong leaders(nothing would actually get done...)

So, do you think you could get in if you dressed up in goth clothes, but had really good grades, etc.?

I don't see why not, maybe the gothee is a real gem in theatre. We saw a number of out of the ordinary dressed kids on our interview circuit. Maybe 5-6 and all but one girls. Personally, I would steer clear of this, but if it's you it's you. What about the goth who is a math wizard, or community service guru? They ceratinly would add in more ways then teir dress

No, no, that's not who I am, but my dad suggested it (jokingly) when we were buying clothes. It seems that the boarding schools have a huge number of straight-laced, white, upper-middle class kids, though.

tommeister, man i had you tabbed for a definite GOTH. Come clean lol
White upper middle class, yes! Straight laced? qustionable

Just out of curiousity, what do you think I am? :D

A quote "stephen hawking" (except not as old or disabled). Are you male or female?

CHAOS Well if you believe what I just said, I have to say gullible. Otherwise you appear to be a well motivated young person who has a passion to pursue, and appears to pursue with laser like focus. Oh and you have big white pearlies. lol

Ah, that was a good one. You both have an excellent sense of humor. :D
I am male. What do you imagine me to look like?

Most people tab me as a mother, NOT!, Chaos, you seem so male, I'm going to say you're female. LOL

What a compliment. XD

Am I missing something here?

Refer to post 11. \,\,\, ;,,,,; \,\,\,

Yes, it is a very interesting sentence, is it not? -_-
XD

what does XD mean?

Look at it horizontally. It is a form of extreme happyface emoticon. :)
I am so popular; so far, I am viewed as a girl. Excellent.

oh, I see. I think that it's interesting that prepparent thinks you're a girl. Being good at science and math is usually perceived to be a guy thing, but maybe she just got that impression from the way you write.
