I am a 3rd year petroleum student, and was wondering if its worth it to take some extra classes in environmental engineering?

the job market seems wishy-washy for petroleum engineers as it has been saturated in the last few years with new students. I am at the University of Regina in Canada, and i would apply for a 16 month internship job this january for starting in may. meanwhile I have only 4 classes this semester and 3 classes next semester, where i can potentially put in 3 environmental classes. would it be worth it incase i can't get a job in petroleum? unfortunately I can't see how getting a internship goes before deciding if i should take the extra classes or not. having 4 classes is really nice compared to the 5 classes.
