Excuse me if this is in the wrong forum but I am sure engineering students will have more experience with this. Anyone know of reputable scholarship sites aimed towards petE students or just engineering students in general? I found a 15k oil scholarship but would like more info on them. Also, what is the minimum GPA I should maintain to qualify for all of them?
Thanks in advance.

Just noticed the spelling error. woops

You mean the marathon oil scholarship right? I got an Apache scholarship from my university, and I recently received an Exxon-mobil one from the HSF website

Would I need to be enrolled in a college with PetE now or can I qualify as a transfer student still in community college?

For what scholarship?

Any of them.

It depends, different scholarships look for different things, but most likely being in community college puts you at a disadvantage in the selection process because the companies giving the scholarship give preferences to specific universities, however that doesn’t mean you can’t be selected. For example I got the exxon mobil one as transfer but the apache onewas only for the university. So just apply as many as you can

Gotcha. Transferring to UAF summer 2014 hopefully. I assume the answer is pretty much no but does the university allow you to go directly into an internship?

Universities don’t have a say in whether you can or can’t have an internship.

edit: Just for clarification, I’m talking about a conventional internship where you work at a company for the summer.

Ya, if anything they encourage you to get an internship and in some schools it is required
