Do I need to dig up my old syllabi to petition classes I took at a CC? Do they more often than not approve the pettition no matter what or is it hard to get it approved?

they won't deny the petition if it's already been approved on assist.org

what if it hasn't been approved by assist?

then start digging ;)

you can usually email the prof who taught the class -- when i had to do a graduate school petition last fall, it was much easier than flying across the country.

Well this is my actual problem: I'm a media major and there are some lower division requirements like basic photography, history of film, basic art making etc that i need to complete. But I'm not sure if some of the my community college classes would satisfy these requirement even though there isn't an articulation agreement. Can I petition my CC classes to bypass some of these classes or do I have to complete them at UCSD no matter what? Are they strict about completing certain classes at their college?

there's no guarantee it'll to through, but if you're to demonstrate that they covered the same topics (and in similar depth) as UCSD classes, then you've got a fair shot. i've never tried petitioning from a non-approved school before ... so you'll be the first i know of. :) do it and let us know how it turns out!
