Petroleum engineering advice for a 1st generation friend

Thank you thank you. Tx Tech and ULL look like strong possibilities given their admission requirements, and their overall settings, tuition, etc. To be honest. this friend would be ecstatic to be attending the "bottom" 10 programs in PE, given the few programs available and the fact they are all rather competitive. We had googled some of the sites mentioned, but were looking for the personal info so many of you share here on CC. Thanks again.

i will defer to ldmom on Sch Mines and climate.... I do think if you look at it they take a higher est score etc.. meaning in my mind that many come in very well prepared for rigorous coursework.... Texas Tech (my undergrad school) and ULL may be a better starting point,

Also tell him to consider ChemE (also difficult) as a backup ... many are hired into PetE jobs right now ..... but as I said before a notoriously cyclical industry ... but what isn't !!

Nothing to do with engineering but just thought I'd throw in that Jake Delhomme, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers is from Breaux Bridge (still lives there in off season I think). He played college football at ULL.
Aren't they the Ragin' Cajuns? Love that name.

PackMom - Yes indeed!!

Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!
