I am a junior in high school at the moment, and i will be graduating on 2016. I am valedictorian of my highschool w a gpa of 4.4, i was wondering if a petroleum engineering career is as good as it sounds? I heard they get paid over $100,000 and you get to travel alot. I also heard the opportunities are very vast in Texas. (I live in Houston) I'm wondering if going to Texas A&M would boost ny chances of landing a job after graduating from college. Any advice or personal experience tips?

I just read a article about your concerns in the Houston Chronicle today. Try to check it out.
