Petroleum Engineering @ Marietta College

I recently was accepted. This school isn't exactly known for engineering (only E-major they have), but would it be credible in the working world vs people with such majors from the Big 10 schools, USC, Tech schools, etc?

Any imput would be appreciated :)

It’s ABET accredited…

Does that mean my degree will be well regarded enough to get me a decent job in the future? I recently read that this field is currently the highest paying of any, so I assume it is really competitive.

Will I be able to compete against those from more traditional E-schools such as the tech institutes or the flagship state uni’?

Petroleum engineering has booms and busts as the price of oil fluctuates. Layoffs and fat paychecks are distributed accordingly.

I would be a tad leery of that program - what if you decide that you would prefer another, more general engineering field?
