Petroleum Engineering (Mechanical)

So I was looking into the Petroleum Engineering field and schools like University of Texas Austin, Penn State, LSU showed up and I did a little bit more research and discovered that USC also has Petroleum Engineering and I absolutely love USC since I live in California and attend the school that produces the most USC students annually.
Can anyone inform me of the details of the program, like how it compares with UTA and other schools. Thank you so much

Just went to visit LSU and Texas A&M with my son and they both have great Petroleum Engineering depts, as does UT. A&M has a beautiful building, great facility. Just a note here (and I’ve worked in the petroleum industry for over 20 years, so I have at least some background), if a state has lots of oil and is supportive of the oil industry, the schools are more likely to have a good program with corporate donors and lots of companies recruiting there. Texas is a huge producer of petroleum. The companies here love to hire from UT, A&M and LSU. Fewer jobs in Cal since there is no offshore drilling. Good luck.

ONe of the top programs in petroleum engineering is at Colorado School of Mines. It would be near the top of the schools you list.
