Petroleum engineering Qs

Hi all I am wondering how many petroleum engineering students are there for class of 2017 and by extention, can someone possibly estimate the number of students the Pete department will aceept for class of 2018?

Do students get kicked out of the department if their gpa falls below a certain point? I just want to know more about my chances of getting into Pete eng next year.

Any discussion is welcomed

For the 2017 class we have about 225 students. It is at max capacity. Even though they are not saying it, I’m sure the department wants some students to drop the major, and they will. The 2018 class will likely have the same amount of spots. TAMU does not want to expand the program and create an overflow of PETE grads. You need to have at least a 2.75 GPA to move on to upper level PETE Classes.

@FullMetalx : How about the chances for a student to transfer into the College of Engineering (PetE major)? Are there any specific criteria? Thank you!
