I live in NJ
i got accepted for petroleum engineering in pennstate university in the lehigh valley campus which is a really small campus but i will finish my junior and senior year in University Park campus. And i got accepted for mechanical engineering in rutgers which gives the real college life experience and it is also closer.
However PE makes more than 130K but ME makes like 80k average

what college i should choose? (i am interested in both so i don't mind either)

Picking your major based on average salary is a bad idea. Choose the one you actually are interested in. Also, you don’t get admitted to a particular engineering major at Rutgers, you get admitted to the entire school and you pick your major at the end of freshman year. If you live in NJ, go to Rutgers. You’ll have your in state tuition, you could be doing research over the summers since it’s closer, and I don’t see the benefit in paying OOS tuition for an engineering program which is just about the same as Rutgers.
