petroleum engineering?????????????

@onecicuit Yes I’m being serious.

youfeh, for someone that claims that one goes to a University, not to learn, but to just get a degree and then says the above - that is about the answer I would expect from a student at lowly University of Alberta.

lol wow okay. Are you a ■■■■■? Or 14 or what? Yes you go to school to learn, obviously. But if we lived in a world where it was easy to make a great living and easily become financially successful without a University degree, a world where a University degree wouldn’t help you out at all in the job market, how many people would be in University? What does that tell you?

Now, stop avoiding my question, I’m expecting a brilliant and insightful answer from someone so intellectually superior they call the UofA “lowly”.

PS the “lowly” University of Alberta happens to be the top ranked school in Canada for my major. Once again, looking forward to that answer, you sound like a smart cookie.

"youfeh, for someone that claims that one goes to a University, not to learn, but to just get a degree and then says the above - that is about the answer I would expect from a student at lowly University of Alberta. "

Lol lowly!..if your going into petroleum engineering or anything to do with the oil industry its the best place to go (in Canada). The companies from the oil sands recruit there.

I’m sorry to go off topic from the original poster, but I’m going to school to get a degree not just to learn. If I wanted to learn I would teach myself everything for free. Unfortunately it would be impossible to even get an interview without a degree so I’m forced to get one.

ziggy, well maybe you should join “you_of” up in University of Alberta. It seems that those students attend that school only to get the degree and not to 1) learn and 2) get a degree.

That makes absolutely no sense. Guess I’m not going to get that answer eh. Stop talking out of your ass please. kthanksbye.

you_of, please tell us again how learning is not important for you during your colleges years and that you are only there to get your degree…

Well that sentence doesn’t make sense either. And I never said learning doesn’t matter in University. I simply said that I believe the number one reason why the majority of kids go to University is to get the degree necessary to start their career. How that translates into “learning is not important for you during your colleges years” in your mind, I have no idea. Maybe I just don’t understand how the gifted mind of someone that attends a far superior University works.

you_of, so now you are denying that you said this?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/12025589-post18.html</a></p>

Okay I’m going to assume English is not your first language and you just don’t understand me correctly. Not really willing to put in the time necessary to explain myself effectively in a language you don’t understand. So let’s just leave it at that.

you_of, that figures, you are a student at Alberta…all I did is copy your post:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/12043504-post30.html</a></p>

and this is how you respond…

again, are you now denying that you said this?
