Have 3 semesters left of the Civil Engineering degree, have plenty of field experience with drilling operations from the past. Question is that I've been given an opportunity to work with a well known service company as a desk monkey for 1/3 of what I'd make in operations. With the goal of working for a service company, is it best to obtain as much field experience as possible, or work for a service company in a desk job with the hope they'll then transfer you to field a full year after graduation as is this company's policy?</p>
<p>Field experience is the best experience, but is experience with the company better? And do they transfer you, or am I going to have to quit after I graduate and then transfer on my own anyway?</p>
<p>End goal is field too, enjoy the 2 on 2 off far too much.</p>
