Pets

I can't believe no one has asked this question yet! Do they allow pets at universities (ie, rabbits or any other caged/contained animals)? I'm a little animal crazy so I was wondering if this was typical of universities.

as far as i know, typical universities don't allow pets except for maybe fish

Unless its a movie like legally blonde where she brings her little dog to Harvard.

haha. yeah, i'm pretty sure they dont allow pets, except maybe fish, like taurus said.

My friend at MIT reports that some of the dorms allow cats.

only fish here...

Worms, fetal pigs, and frogs are allowed in the biology lab if they haven't moved in 3 weeks.

You can get the genetically modified fish that glow in the dark...

Fish are usually allowed, but only in small tanks (at my school, <10 gallons).

The basic rule of thumb is that if it can live outside its environment (cage), it's not allowed. ;)

At UNC Chapel Hill my friend is a proud owner of a teddy bear hamster.

I'm sure pets are allowed as long as they don't stink up the place or cause any trouble or loud noises and such.

I cannot go to college without my cat, she cannot leave me alone also.

sucks for you.

Some colleges allow pets...however I would advise against bringing one purely for the things that can happen to it when dormmates get drunk and rowdy.

whats going to happen to my doggies? sobs

the problem with pets is some people are allergic to them, plus they can be messy..

Nothing like passing out next to a pile of dog poop. Chrissy, me and the finacee split up and it sucks.
